Our Story

Tarek Chawich (Owner) was born in the Beqqa Valleys of Lebanon. He spent his childhood there, growing up on French treats, baklava, and Arabic coffee. When the owner came to the States, his background never changed…drinking Arabic coffee and eating baklava every morning with his mom. Tarek spent his teenage years in local Lansing schools, and eventually attending Michigan State University. After graduating Tarek worked for corporate Apple. However,  he felt there was always something more he could do. He turned down offers from Tesla, Amazon, and Google to follow his passion and open Château Coffee Co in January 2021. A Mediterranean, and French inspired specialty coffee shop. 

Syrups

Over the years, Château Coffee Co. realized its core values of innovation and being at the cusp of café culture were falling short in the syrups sector. Château Coffee shop was using premade store bought syrups like Torani and Monin, so they decided to innovate those syrups by mixing flavors like marshmallow and S'mores and naming it campfire. They also created coffee flights that rotated every month with new mixed flavors. Customers appreciated the variety and innovation, but they wanted more... something better! So Tarek and Kalese Thomas, a barista since the inception of Château Coffee Co. started crafting in house made syrups, called... you guessed it Chateau Syrups! As we rolled out Château Syrups to the coffee shop, customers raved! They wanted more flavors, wanted to purchase bottles, and complimented the quality ingredients and craftsmanship. Now we want to bring these amazing syrups to everyone's house, workplace, or cafe. So we bring to you Château Syrups: small batch café syrup crafted with quality ingredients and organic raw turbinado sugar.
